Description
Watts 6.5 in micrometer transit theodolite with internal scales micrometer eyepiece reading to 1 second of arc. 3-screw levelling head. Used for measuring horizontal and vertical angles; and horizontal distances in land surveying (by measuring the intercept of a pair of stadia wires on a levelling staff); and for setting out works.
ER Watts & Son Ltd merged with Adam Hilger Ltd to form Hilger & Watts in 1948, but continued to produce instruments under the Watts name.
