Obverse: salmon fisherman dragging a net ashore beside a beached boat with legend: ‘RETE TRAHITO FAUSTE’ (Draw the net successfully) and ‘WRIGHT JUN.R DES’.

Reverse: city crest below a bridge with distant hills in background with legend on three lines:

TAY BRIDGE

FINISH-ED 1770′

On the edge is the legend: ‘PAYABLE ON DEMAND BY JOHN FERRIER’
