Celebrating 50 Years

The museum was founded over 50 years ago in 1971. This short video made in 2021 celebrates this achievemant in 20 objects. For more information on these and indeed on our entire collection click on the Collections tab above.

Visiting the Museum

The museum is currently open to the public between the hours of 07.00 and 19.00 on Mon – Fri. Members of the public are welcome to visit independently.  Items on display are located in and around the William Arrol Building. There is an online guide which can be opened as a flip book or as a  pdf file.
