Description

Golden River Mark 3 ‘Retriever’ portable data store and programmer. It features an internal clock and calendar; user set RS232C interface output (110 to 19200 baud); 64K RAM.

This retriever was plugged in to a Golden River traffic counter on site to download traffic count data. The retriever was also used as a diagnostic device and as a means of programming the counter to recognise loop configurations. The device was carried by a traffic technician from site to site on a regular basis to retrieve, check operation and reconfigure counters as required. A Golden River traffic counter is held in the collection (1994/014).
