Description

12 in lightweight dumpy level in black lacquered aluminium and white metal. Longitudinal bubble level and short transverse level over telescope. 4-screw levelling head (c.1890).

Used for measuring vertical distances between points in conjunction with a levelling staff. This instrument was used for levelling in Edinburgh.
