c.1860

Description

24 in parallel rolling rule in brass used for drawing parallel lines on plans.

The box is not correct. The rule is too big for the box.

The rule is inscribed “B & E Blyth No 3”

In 1850 Benjamin Hall Blyth commenced business on his own account, his first work being the Slamannan and Bo’ness Branch of the Monkland Railway. 1854 With increasing work Benjamin brought his brother, Edward L.I. Blyth, into partnership. The firm operated at least to 1863. (Ref: Grace’s Guide). This dates the rule to that period.
