Description

Refill 10 m steel tape for a Rabone or Rabone Chesterman measuring tape in original box (c.1960). Although sold in a box under the Rabone Chesterman label, a note in the box indicates the tape was made by John Rabone & Sons Ltd. John Rabone & Sons Ltd merged with James Chesterman & Co in 1963 which suggests a date of manufacture not later than 1963. This note (see image 3) states “left handed people should exercise particular care” [when rewinding the tape].
