Sample of a T-section of ‘Coats’ steel salvaged from the demolition (c.1993) of Caputh Road Bridge (OSGR NO 089 395) Perthshire over the River Tay which was erected by Sir William Arroll 1887/88
Part of this bridge was thought to have been fabricated from wrought iron from the first Tay Railway Bridge which collapsed on 28 December 1879.
