“Ink Photo” prints (5 No) of photographs taken during the construction of the Forth Bridge. The prints are:

1: A Caisson Ready to Launch.

2: Caisson just launched.

3: Vertical Columns of Fife Cantilever – March 1887.

4: Rivetting Cage for Lower Member.

5: Fife Cantilever from HMS “Devastation” – March 1889.

Each print is annotated at the bottom left with the words “Ink Photo, Sprague & Co, London”.

This item was loaned to South Ayrshire Council for an exhibition Spanning the Centuries Sir William Arrol’s Legacy in Steel, Stone, and Culture. Roselle House Museum & Galleries, Ayr. February – May 2023.
