33 ft fabric measuring tape in moulded brown leather box case made by Henry Barnascone & Son, Sheffield. Graduated in half inches and links.

There are 6 ft of tape missing.

Henry Barnascone and his brother Lewis were Swiss emigrants who settled in Sheffield in early 1800’s. Henry was a cutler active 1868-1883. From 1884 the firm became H. Barnascone & Son and from 1901 to 1934 H. Barnascone & Sons (Ltd from 1909). The firm used the trade mark EMPIRE.
