Description

Sections of curved acrylic compound windshield used on the Queensferry Crossing (Forth Replacement Crossing). The windshield is impregnated with lateral black circular strips (approx 2 mm diameter) located at 30 mm centres which run the length of the shield. These strips act as an anti-collision device to reduce injuries to birds. Galvanised steel fixing collar and rubber noise baffle.

In situ each section of windshield is 2.5 m long and are stacked in six horizontal rows to a height of 3.5 m along the entire length of the bridge and its approaches.
