Description
A collection of 35 mm slides (130 No) relating to the construction of the Forth Road Bridge. Metal case with carry handle.
They were donated by Anne Blacklock who writes:
These slides were taken by my Uncle Mr David Stenhouse who was from Kirkcaldy originally but lived all of his adult life in Davidsons Mains, Edinburgh. He was a Lecturer at the Post Office Engineering Training School, Kinellan House, Edinburgh and had many interests including photography.
He was obviously interested in the construction from the technical side and of course from the fact that it was linking the area he was from to where he was living at the time. He was always very meticulous in everything he did and I know that following the progress of the bridge in this way would have given him a lot of pleasure.
There are 45 slides with no date (month) of development present. The dated slides are August 1956 (8 No), April 1961 (4), March 1963 (11), May 1963 (30), September 1963 (8), October 1963 (10), January 1964 (10), and March 1970 (4). (The date of development may not be the month the photograph was taken.)
