The Medallion-of-Office for the Chairman of Institute of Transport Scottish Section. It dates from around 1930 and may have been worn until the 1980’s. Made by L Simpson (London) Ltd, 56 York Way Nondon N1 in sterling silver.
The words “The Institute of Transport Founded 1919” are set round the perimeter with “Chairman” and “Scottish Section” at the top of the medallion.
The logo was superseded in 1996 when the new logo was introduced (as illustrated by the Past Chairman’s Badge [see 2023/010]). The Institute did not issue a new Medallion-of-Office and this item was no longer used.
