Description

The outer case stamp “WLC” stands for Water of Leith Purification & Sewerage Commissioners. The Commissioners’ duties were specified by the Water of Leith Purification and Sewerage Act 1889.

Used for measuring horizontal and vertical angles in land surveying and for setting out works.
