Description

Stereoscopes (2 No) and small toolkit in a fitted leather pocket. 1 x AM Stereoscope Type D 148/746 and 1 x Casella.

Used to view a stereoscopic pair of separate images, depicting left-eye and right-eye views of the same scene, as a single three-dimensional image.

Originally manufactured for the Air Ministry for RAF intelligence to examine detail in aerial reconnaissance photography (WW2).
