The Pont de Québec is a road, rail and pedestrian bridge across the lower Saint Lawrence River in Quebec, Canada. The bridge is a riveted steel truss structure: 987 m long, 29 m wide and 104 m above water level. Cantilever arms 177 m long support a 195 m central structure, with an overall span of 549 m.
During construction the bridge failed twice: it took over 30 years to complete with a loss 88 lives. It opened in the autumn of 1917 and remains the longest cantilever bridge span in the world.
